About the Qualification
A nationally recognised workplace-based Level 3 NVQ Diploma for experienced formwork operatives working on complex structures.
Designed for individuals involved in assembling, installing and removing timber and proprietary formwork systems whilst supporting work planning, quality checks and decision-making activities.
This qualification ensures you remain compliant with industry standards and continue to deliver safe, high-quality formwork solutions on modern construction projects.

Mandatory Units
Learner must complete all eight mandatory units 99 credits:
Confirming Work Activities and Resources for an Occupational Work Area, Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships, Confirming the Occupational Method of Work, Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare, Moving, Handling and Storing Resources, Erecting and Striking Timber and Proprietary Formwork, Constructing, Maintaining and Repairing Complex Timber and Proprietary Formwork and Erecting and Striking Timber and Proprietary Formwork for Complex Structures.
Workplace observations must cover all eight mandatory units:
- Timber formwork for at least two of the following: walls, columns, beams, soffits or bases.
- Proprietary formwork for at least one of the following: climbing, jumping, slip-form, panel systems or soldiers and walling.
